Over the past 16 years we have delivered over 1100 workshops across the country. Although these have contributed to greater awareness and clearer actions for parents to undertake, both in schools and at home; there is an urgent need to support communities to support Muslim parents in their area.
Investing in communities increases capacity and enables parents to access local support.
who is for?
Anyone who is concerned about what they’re teaching in schools around sex education and ‘LGBTQ’ identities and wants to support parents to challenge inappropriate teaching and empower parents to shape their children’s values.
what is involved?
RSE Champions need to:
Attend a one-day in-person training or two half-day online training.
Commit to supporting other parents in their community.
Agree to invest two hours a week in support work.
You may decide to deliver a training session to parents, support parents with queries or another role that best utilises your skills.
what support will you receive?
In-person or online training covering the six core modules.
Interactive training, including activities and a workbook covering all modules to review learning.
Ongoing support from Yusuf and fellow Champions to become an effective Champion.
